HEXvolver v0.2


HEXvolver has been updated to v0.2. This version brings updated gem graphics, where the point was that the gems can be distinguished with the shape of the gem as well as with the color. The Fire and Lightning Special Gems have also been implemented. I have also added some sound effects.

All of the features still require polish and game juice, and there's bound to be a bunch of bugs in the game. All bug reports and feedback appreciated. The "tutorial", or first start screen showing how to control the game with iconographics and movement will be implemented in the v0.3, which is dedicated to more QoL stuff and polish etc.

I'm implementing this game for my "Make an android game speedrun solo jam". Target was to get under 48 hours, but current tally is 42 hours, and there's a lot of polish work to do which can easily take more time regardless of effort put in. The ultimate goal of this is to get a game on Google Play with (incentivized) ads. 

Roadmap for version updates:

  • v0.1: Proof of concept
  • v0.2: Special Gems
  • v0.3: QoL and game juice + Sound/Music
  • v0.4: Bug fixing + polish
  • v0.5: Leaderboards and Android ads (only for Android)
  • v1.0: Final polish and QoL (only for Android)

v0.4 will most probably be the last version updated to itch.io.
